Microsoft co-founder and billionaire Bill Gates has openly admitted to having a relationship with Paula Hurd, calling her his “serious girlfriend” and revealing that they are “having fun” together. In an interview with TODAY yesterday, the 69-year-old philanthropist discussed Hurd and provided a unique look into his private life following his well-publicized divorce from Melinda French Gates in 2021.
“I’m lucky to have a serious girlfriend named Paula,” Gates said. “So we’re having fun, going to the Olympics and lots of great things.”
Although they didn’t publicly acknowledge their relationship until the next year, Gates and Hurd have been spotted together at a number of prominent events since 2022. The pair has since appeared together on a number of occasions, including the 2024 Olympics.
For more than 20 years, Paula Hurd, the wife of former Oracle CEO Mark Hurd, has been actively involved in philanthropy, concentrating on projects related to healthcare and education. She had two daughters with Mark Hurd, whom she married until his death in 2019. She has contributed significantly to fundraising initiatives for numerous charity organizations over the course of her career.

Hurd was also mentioned in Source Code, Gates’s new memoir, which came out yesterday. Gates acknowledged her as one of the first people to view his manuscript in the book’s acknowledgments.
The memoir explores Gates’ early life, including his early years and his profession until the late 1970s, a few years after he and Paul Allen co-founded Microsoft in 1975.
In an interview with TODAY, Gates discussed “Source Code” and the experience of going back in time.
“This year, I turn 70, Microsoft turns 50, and so I thought, OK, I should share what luck I had to have amazing parents, you know, the way they let me go out and hike and try new things,” he stated. “I was just unbelievably lucky, and, you know, that’s why Microsoft ended up being so successful.”
