Andre Braugher aka Captain Holt dies at 61. ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ cast remembers former co-star.

The family of Brooklyn Nine-Nine is mourning the untimely passing of Andre Braugher, 61. His representative Jennifer Allen confirmed his death on December 11, saying that, after a short struggle, he died from the illness. Braugher’s old B99 co-workers shared their grief on social media with meaningful condolences.

Andre’s acting career took off in 1989 due to his role in the film “Glory”. Braugher’s portrayal of Captain Holt in Nine-Nine led to four nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. He previously won Emmys for his roles in the FX miniseries Thief and Homicide: Life on the Street, although he did not win for The Nine-Nine.
