Crucial elements of Mumbai Metro Line 3
Mumbai Metro Line 3 is a 33.5-kilometer underground metro line that is also known as the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz line. Currently, a 12.44-kilometer portion of this is accessible to the general public. The project has cost more than ₹32,000 crore to develop. Aarey, Marol Naka, CSMIA T1 (Terminal 1), MIDC, SEEPZ, Sahar Road, CSMIA T2 (Terminal 2), Vidyanagari, Dharavi, and BKC are the 10 stations on this metro line. Aarey station is the only one on the ground level, while the other nine are underground.
According to the MMRC, this line will run 96 times a day, with each Metro train carrying more than 2,000 passengers. The trains’ average running speed will be 35 km/h, with a maximum speed of 85 km/h.
On weekdays, the Metro service will operate from 6:30 am to 10:30 pm; on weekends, it will operate from 8:30 am to 10:30 pm. The Metro will charge fares ranging from ₹10 to ₹50. Tickets can be bought by commuters at actual counters or via an app. The National Common Mobility Card will be accepted on all Mumbai Metro lines by the end of next month.
By June 2025, the Mumbai Metro Line 3 should be completely operational. When finished, it is expected to cut down on daily vehicle traffic by up to 6.5 lakh journeys, making Mumbai’s transportation system more efficient and seamless.
