Mumbai and Pune skywatchers are in for a unique experience this evening. As it moves across the night sky, the International Space Station (ISS) will be visible to the unaided eye. The opportunity to see one of humanity’s greatest engineering feats orbiting the Earth at almost 28,000 km/h is provided by this uncommon sighting. All you need is a clear sky and the appropriate hour, no telescopes or other special equipment.
Where and When to Look?
At 7:23 PM, the ISS will be visible in the sky. After the Moon and Venus, it will be the third brightest object around 7:28 PM. Approximately 10 degrees above the horizon, to the northwest, will offer the best view.
“The ISS will be visible for almost two and a half minutes,” stated Arvind Paranjpye, director of the Nehru Planetarium in Mumbai. The view may be improved by using binoculars, but a clear sky is required. Visibility may be impacted by urban pollution.

An Uncommon Chance for Skywatchers
For space aficionados in Pune and Mumbai, this is a unique occasion. Astronauts live aboard the International Space Station (ISS), a center for microgravity research. Sunita Williams is one of these people.
Even taking a selfie with the station in the background is an option for onlookers. The SpaceX Dragon capsule will soon bring the ISS back to Earth. Don’t pass up this unique night sky view.
