We undoubtedly live in a time of rapid technological advancement. In fields of AI, machine learning, and nanotechnology, new developments are occurring. Kurzweil
Massive scientific advancements over the past ten years alone have brought us one step close to a future in which artificial intelligence will pervade every aspect of our daily lives
And now we find out that by 2030, It’s possible for people to become immortal. Let’s give that some time to register.
According to Ray Kurzweil, a futurist with a history of making correct forecasts, humanity may be able to live endlessly in 7 years.
He thinks that as a results of the technical developments and expansions in genetics, robotics, and nanotechnology that we are currently witnessing, we will soon have nanobots circulating throughout our bodies.
Clinical medical duties are performed by nanobots, which ane tiny robots between 50 and 100nm in width. They serve as DNA probes, cell imaging tools, and cell specific delivery systems in research.
In 1990, Kurzweil made the accurate prediction that a computer would defeat human world chess champions by the year 2000.
He also correctly predicted the emergence of portable computers and smartphones, the transition to more wireless technology, and the Internet’s explosive growth before it was widely understood.
He also looked back on his own predictions from 20 years earlier in 2010 to see how they has performed. In the essay, he asserts that of the 147 forecasts he made about the years leading up to 2010 in 1900, 115 turned out to be “totally true”, another 12 were essentially correct and only 3 were completely off.
Kurzweil stated, “we ‘ve been extending our life expectancy for thousands of years,” in an interview with PBC News in 2016. It was 19, 1000 years ago. There were 37 in 1800. By 2025 or 2030, we’ll have reached a stage where we’re extending our remaining life expectancy by more time than is passing.
Yeah, I don’t want to live past 90, people often say. Yet, when I spoke with 90-years-old, many said they definitely wanted to live 91 and then 100.
