A Chinese business reportedly succeeded in hacking and breaching about 100 terabytes of Indian immigration data.

According to a Washington Post investigation, Chinese hacking organizations have accessed 95.2 gigabytes of immigration documents from the Indian government, indicating that India is a major target for Beijing-based hackers.

A recent story from The Washington Post claims that Chinese state-affiliated hacking groups have made public a sizable document collection. The groups have been using extensive cyberattacks to target foreign organizations, including governments, businesses, and vital infrastructure.

According to the research, these hackers are taking advantage of flaws in software systems that are provided by well-known businesses like Google, Apple, and Microsoft.

The publicly available cache, which includes more than 570 files, photos, and conversation logs, offers a unique window into the methods used by companies hired by Chinese government agencies to conduct extensive, on-demand data collecting.

Leaked files that were verified by cybersecurity specialists and uploaded on GitHub reveal contracts detailing cyber incursion tactics aimed at 20 foreign nations, including the governments of Malaysia, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and India. According to The Post, the accused company, ISoon, is situated in Shanghai and is well-known for providing data gathering and third-party hacking services to Chinese government agencies and state-owned enterprises.

Researchers from SentinelLabs claim that ISoon has also infiltrated universities, the NATO military alliance, and “democracy organizations” in Hong Kong.
