According to eyewitness reports, the sub-inspector grabbed a pistol from a constable, loaded it, and fired the trigger. On Friday, a police sub-inspector may have unintentionally shot a woman in the head while she was at a police station in the Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh for passport verification.
Police reports here claim that as the lady, known as Ishrat Jahan, was waiting to see the relevant official for her passport verification, a police officer standing close by, named as Manoj Sharma, “accidentally” squeezed the trigger.
The woman instantly dropped to the ground, and other officials and a relative could be seen running to her. According to media sources, the woman was admitted to a hospital and was stated to be in severe condition.
At the Kotwali Nagar police station in the Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday, a police officer unintentionally shot a lady in the head. The disturbing episode was captured on tape by a closed-circuit television system.
The woman, who had apparently gone to the police station to have her passport verified, was seen standing next to the inspector’s table with a family member. A little while later, a police officer arrived and gave a weapon to a fellow officer, Manoj Sharma. The inspector unintentionally shot the woman when he was cleaning the weapon.
