At the opening of the Ram Temple, I thought I was the luckiest person alive. Arun Yogiraj remarked, “The blessing of my ancestors, family, and Lord Ram Lalla has always been with me.”
The sculptor from Karnataka who made the Ram Lalla statue for the Ayodhya Ram Temple declared today that he believes he is the “luckiest person” on the planet.
“I believe that right now, I am the luckiest person alive. I have always had the blessings of my family, Lord Ram, and my ancestors. I feel like I’m in a dream world sometimes,” Arun Yogiraj said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over the Ram temple’s “pran pratishtha,” or consecration rite, today. In order to be ready for the consecration event, Prime Minister Modi had been following a stringent set of eleven-day religious practices.
The idol was unveiled today, right before the ‘pran pratishtha,’ in its ultimate form. Last Monday, the new Ram Lalla idol was set inside the shrine. The five-year-old Ram Lalla is shown on the idol standing on a lotus. Before today’s event, the 51-inch statue, which Arun Yogiraj sculpted out of black stone, was hidden behind a veil.
PM Modi expressed his “great pleasure” at being a part of a “divine programme” at the Ram Temple just prior to the ceremony.
Several statues have been created by fifth-generation sculptor Arun Yogiraj. But the world has never looked forward to an idol molded by him more than now.
The event has been dubbed a “Diwali,” alluding to the celebrations that commemorated Ram’s return home following his conflict with Ravan.
