On Friday, at least sixty private schools in various Bengaluru neighborhoods and the surrounding areas received bomb threat emails. The school’s grounds were promptly cleared of all personnel and pupils.

Bengaluru: Sixty-eight private schools in and around the city got emails on Friday alerting staff and parents to a bomb threat on their property, according to police. The officials at the school reported that the bomb threat might be a hoax and that they quickly notified the police, who then dispatched bomb disposal squads and anti-sabotage inspection teams to the relevant institutions.

Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah stated that as a precaution, he has instructed police to look into the email and its origin carefully and to bolster security at temples and schools.

The email, according to State Home Minister G Parameshwara, was from “kharijites@beeble.com,” threatening to blow up Bengaluru schools with bombs and kill students and staff.

“We are seriously verifying it and its source. I have spoken to the Commissioner and officials and have given the necessary instructions and verification on whether it is true or hoax and measures to be taken accordingly. We will verify as to who is behind it and if there is an involvement of any terrorist organisation, and take measures accordingly. For now, it cannot be said who is behind it. The message in the email asks people to convert and other things–it will be verified,” he told reporters.

48 of the 68 schools that received the bomb threat are found in the city, while the remaining 36 are found in Bengaluru’s rural boundaries, according to the police.
Police stated that no suspicious things had been discovered and that, on the surface, the message appeared to be a hoax. The children and staff were promptly removed from the school grounds.
