The third international cricket stadium is being constructed in Uttar Pradesh’s holy city of Varanasi by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The renowned city of Varanasi will soon have its own international cricket stadium, which is anticipated to be ready in a record amount of time by the end of 2024, following the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur and the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
The BCCI has been given permission by the government of Uttar Pradesh to create not just any cricket stadium, but one that will be unlike anything else ever built before.
We now know that the Lord Shiva motif would be used by the BCCI to build the Varanasi stadium! The floodlights will be designed to resemble the Damru instrument, while the stadium will have a dome resembling Lord Shiva’s Trishul.
The stadium’s seating will be arranged to resemble the steps of the Ganga Ghat, and the entrance gates will be constructed in the shape of Belpatra’s leaves.
The BCCI and the UP government have chosen to construct this monument, which is going to be really stunning.
Hindus flock to Varanasi in large numbers for its holy sites. Visitors come to Varanasi from all over the world because of its beauty and atmosphere. By the end of 2024, the BCCI hopes to have this stadium ready.
In Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the stadium’s cornerstone.
On September 23, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially lay the cornerstone for this cutting-edge international cricket stadium in Varanasi’s Ganjari neighborhood.
The entire Varanasi stadium is expected to cost INR 450 crore to build, and it would have 30,000 seats available for spectators.
Kaushal Raj Sharma, the Divisional Commissioner, said: “Preparations at Ganjari are being started for the proposed visit of the Prime Minister to lay the foundation stone of the cricket stadium on September 23. It will be a grand show as apart from BCCI office-bearers, star cricketers are also likely to take part in the ceremony.”
