Mohit Joshi, Travel Trends and Destination Expert at Skyscanner, noted that despite budgetary limitations, Indian tourists have embraced international travel. He saw a change in the objectives of travelers, emphasizing the importance of experiences and cultural discovery in addition to budgetary concerns.
Joshi, citing Skyscanner’s Travel Trends 2024 study, believes that this trend will continue to expand in the upcoming year. According to the report, 86 percent of Indian tourists intend to continue or expand their foreign travel in 2024 as compared to 2023.
Joshi predicts that Nice, France, will be an affordable holiday destination for Indians in 2024 because airfares had dropped by more than a third in the previous year. Furthermore, he projects that in 2024, a third of Indian visitors would go overseas to see live performances of their favorite singers, and 20 percent of them are open to taking long-haul flights for this reason.
