Due to his “very heavy” responsibilities at Tesla, Elon Musk has postponed his intended vacation to India.
The CEO of Tesla was scheduled to travel to India the following week. It was anticipated that the tour would involve a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and an announcement that Tesla will establish a factory in the most populated nation on earth.
Musk wrote on X on Saturday, saying, “Unfortunately, very heavy Tesla obligations require that the visit to India be delayed, but I do very much look forward to visiting later this year.”
Musk expressed his excitement about seeing Modi in a post published on X last week. During his visit, he also intended to meet with executives from Indian space industry businesses, such as Pawan Chandana, co-founder of Skyroot Aerospace, which in 2022 launched the country’s first privately built rocket.
In addition to Tesla (TSLA), Musk is the CEO of X, the old Twitter, and the rocket business SpaceX. Reuters and the Financial Times, citing unidentified sources, said that Musk, who is currently the fourth richest man in the world, was anticipated to announce an investment of $2 billion to $3 billion in India, mostly for the construction of the new Tesla factory.
His planned itinerary for the trip was set for a few days after the world’s biggest democratic election in India. In the 1.4 billion-person nation, there are an estimated 960 million eligible voters in the poll, which began on Friday and will take more than a month to finish. It is highly probable that Modi will secure an uncommon third consecutive five-year tenure as prime leader.
