The Railways has lost lakhs of rupees this year as a result of these passenger habits. Apart from bedsheets and blankets, passengers often steal spoons, kettles, faucets, and toilet bowls, according to the railways, costing them a lot of money.

People in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur zone are ferociously swiping railroad items from the trains. In long-distance express trains departing from Bilaspur and Durg, blankets, bed sheets, pillow cases, and face towels are routinely taken.

When providing information, Railways stated that during the previous four months, commodities worth approximately Rs 55 lakh were stolen from trains departing from the Bilaspur zone.

In the past four months, commodities worth Rs 55 lakh 97 thousand 406 have reportedly been stolen, according to media sources.

12886 face towels have been stolen, the cost of which is Rs 559381. At the same time, 18208 bedsheets have been stolen in 4 months by passengers traveling in AC.

Its price is around Rs.2816231. Apart from this, 19767 pillow covers have been stolen, which cost Rs 1014837, 2796 blankets cost Rs 1171999, 312 pillows cost Rs 34956.

Railways has stated that it is illegal to steal things in this fashion while providing information. The Railway Property Act of 1966 will be applied by the railways to penalize such passengers.

The passengers will be penalized and punished in this. You have the option of a maximum 5-year prison sentence in this, and the Railways may also impose a fine.
