Air India, a subsidiary of the Tata Group, signed multibillion dollar contract to purchase 470 passenger aircraft from Amercian and French aircraft Manufacturers Airbus and Boeing.

Tata Sons had earlier in the day said that it had signed a letter of intent to buy 250 planes from European aircraft and 40 wide-body A350 aircraft will be purchased by Air India.

In accordance with the two agreements, Air India would buy 250 Airbus jets, including 210 A320neo family planes and 40 A350 and 220 Boeing models, including 190 737 Max planes, 20 787s and 10 of its largest 777X planes.

The deals is aniticipated in overall value (including Airbus and Boeing) is $80 billions over Rs. 6.4 Lakh Crore

In 44 states, this acquisition will support over a million American jobs, many of which do not call for a four year college degree.

In a virtual event conducted to announce the agreement, which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ratan Tata, French President Emmanuel Macron, and other leaders. Airbus Cheif Executive Guillaume Faury said,” Is is a historic moment for Airbus to assist script Air Indi”s comeback”.

The agreement “marks a new chapter in France and India’s strategic alliance, ” said French President Emmanuel Macron, who also thanked Prime Minister Modi ” for your faith in France and our Industry.

Tata Group bought Air India from the government at an Estimated cost of Rs 18,000 Crore and got 100% stake in the airline on January 27, 2022. The acquisition by Air India is expected to win back some of the market share it has lost over the years to Gulf and western airlines.
