Bengaluru: on March 25, Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened a new metro line in bangalore that runs 13.7 kilometres from Whitefield to KR Puram.

The new route will make the Namma metro the second longest metro line in the nation.

On the list of metros with the longest lines, Hyderabad which is now running at 69.2 Km, will move up to third place.

The Namma metro will now feature a 69.71 Km long route instead of the previous 56 Km.

Delhi Metro is the first to have the longest line, measuring 390.14 Km with 286 stations.

In Bengaluru, the metro has been functioning for 12 years,
