Flooding has also affected service at New York City’s major airfields. LaGuardia transnational field, grounded in Queens, suspended access to one of its outstations amid extreme rainfall.

The John F Kennedy Airport, also in Queens, reported heavy business at two of its outstations. The field had been hit with at least 3in of rain since 12 pm ET Friday.
