Delhi schools up to class 5 will be closed for the next five days due to the winter weather.

An earlier order on the extension of winter break in schools throughout the nation’s capital was revoked by the Delhi government. Shortly after it was released, it was reversed. The Department of Education made it clear that the previous directive, which had prolonged winter break, had been sent out in error. On January 8, a decision was expected to be made about the subject.

Order No.DE.23(3)/Sch.Br./2024/18, dated January 6, 2024, addressing the extension of Winter Vacation, is withdrawn with immediate effect, according to the amended order. It was claimed that “further instructions on this matter may be issued in due course.”

Citing “extreme cold waves and IMD’s yellow alert,” the Arvind Kejriwal government’s prior decree extended the winter vacation to January 10 for all government-aided and unaided recognized private schools in the national capital region (NCT).
