On Wednesday, one virus-related death was reported in the Koppala district of Karnataka. On Wednesday, the number of new COVID-19 infections in Karnataka increased by more than 75%, reaching 260 cases. Similar to yesterday, the state reported one virus-related fatality. The positive rate was 3.46 percent, up from 2.02 percent the day before.

134 of the new 260 cases were from Bengaluru, the state capital, accounting for 624 of the city’s active cases, according to health department data. The southern state’s active caseload crept up to 1,175 with 228 recoveries. The entire Covid tally for Karnataka was 40.91 lakhs.

Of the districts, Mysuru had 24, Bengaluru Rural had 20, and Shivamogga had 11. Mandya reported eight new cases, while Ramanagara reported seven. Dakshina Kannada and Dharwad each reported nine instances. Six cases were reported from Tumakuru, while four new infections were reported from Bagalkote, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapura, and Uttara Kannada. Ballari, Chitradurga, and Hassan each reported two incidents, while Davanagere and Vijayanagar each recorded three cases. There were no new cases in nine districts.

The Koppala district was the site of the lone death reported on Wednesday.

The previous two days have seen a surge in testing in response to the health department’s goal of performing 5,000 tests each day. In the state, 7,497 samples were analyzed, of which 6,621 were used for RT-PCR analysis and 876 for Rapid Antigen Testing (RATs).

68 of the 1,175 active cases in the state were hospitalized, and 1,107 were isolated in their homes. Of those patients, 21 were in the ICU, with four receiving ventilator support, and 45 were in normal wards with two more receiving oxygen assistance.

Bengaluru accounted for 172 of the 298 new cases, or 704 active cases in the state capital.

On Thursday, Karnataka had 298 new COVID-19 infections, up from the 260 cases it had the day before. Compared to the one death recorded on Wednesday, the state reported four deaths linked to viruses. Additionally, on Thursday, the state’s optimism rate increased somewhat from 3.46 to 3.82 percent.

172 of the 298 new cases were from Bengaluru alone, accounting for 704 active cases in the IT hub, according to the health department’s daily report. The number of active cases in the southern state was 1,240 after 229 recoveries. The entire Covid tally for Karnataka was 40.92 lakhs.

Nineteen cases were from Hassan, eighteen from Mysuru, and eleven from Dakshina Kannada among the districts. Chamarajanagara reported eight new cases, while Ballari and Koppala each reported six new illnesses. Chikkamagaluru, Vijayanagara, and Tumakuru each witnessed five cases. There are now only four districts remaining without any new cases, down from nine on Wednesday.

Two of the four deaths were reported from the Bengaluru Urban region, while one each was recorded from Mysuru and Dharwad.

The state analyzed a total of 7,791 samples, of which 6,900 underwent RT-PCR testing and 891 underwent Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs). The state’s case fatality rate increased to 1.34 percent.

72 hospitalizations were recorded out of the 1,240 current cases in the state, with 1,168 of those patients being isolated at home. Twelve patients in the ICU, three of whom were on ventilators, and about sixty patients receiving treatment in the main wards, some of whom need oxygen assistance.

In general, 760 new Covid-19 cases were reported in the nation on Thursday.
