The ambitious GIFT city in Gandhinagar is where the intended circuit is located. The Gujarat government has released a call for bids to select a company to carry out a feasibility study and create a master plan for an F1 track at GIFT City, Gandhinagar, in an effort to improve the state’s sporting facilities.
The project, which is overseen by the Gujarat Sports Authority, is to investigate the viability of building a state-of-the-art Formula 1 racetrack in the center of the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City).
The request for proposals, “Appointment of Agency for undertaking Feasibility Study and Preparation of Master Plan for F1 circuit at GIFT City, Gandhinagar,” was issued by the Gujarati government to the Sports Authority of Gujarat.
In addition to being a state-of-the-art facility for fans of motorsports, the proposed F1 circuit in Gujarat intends to stimulate the local economy and tourism industry. This ambitious project is in perfect harmony with Gujarat’s government’s commitment to improving the state’s sports and entertainment facilities, further solidifying Gujarat’s standing as a center for first-rate amenities.
Remember that India already has an F1 track in Noida called the Buddh International Circuit, which played host to three Grand Prix events between 2011 and 2013. However, the Indian Grand Prix was dropped from the schedule by the Formula One Authority (FIA), due to excessive costs and logistical and administrative difficulties.
The Gujarat Government’s determination to constructing infrastructure for a possible 2036 Olympic bid is evident in this action, putting the new F1 track at the center of the region’s overall development plan, even in light of India’s previous F1 defeats. This effort highlights the need of investing in top-notch facilities to draw attention and participation from across the world, in addition to signaling a renewed focus on sports.
