According to news outlet PTI, a definitive choice over the PM face of the INDIA bloc has not yet been made. As per the report, Mallikarjun Kharge, the chief of Congress, believes that “winning first is important.” “I work for the downtrodden,” declared Kharge. First let’s win, and then we’ll see. I have no desires.”
Top leaders of the opposition INDIA bloc convened in Delhi on Tuesday to discuss their future strategies for facing the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) collectively in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
According to sources, the members of the INDIA bloc debated and denounced the suspension of opposition MPs from parliament during the meeting.
The leaders of the INDIA group met and discussed a plan for a coordinated campaign, a seat-sharing agreement, and a reworking of their approach following the defeat of the Congress in the recent Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, CPP Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, TMC Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal Chief Minister and former Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi, and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar attended the meeting, which was held at the Ashoka Hotel in the nation’s capital.

Following the INDIA bloc meeting, MP Vaiko of the MDMK (Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) stated, “The INDIA bloc PM candidate is Mallikarjun Kharge, who was proposed by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.”
PC Thomas, a later leader of the Kerala Congress, stated, “She did not suggest such. Mamata Banerjee mentioned that projecting a Dalit prime minister would be beneficial during her speech. She refrained from mentioning anyone’s name. She spoke last, thus there was little discussion of the issue.”

“We have decided to organize 8–10 gatherings across the country,” stated Mallikarjun Kharge. People won’t be aware of the alliance if its members don’t unite at one point. The two to three hour duration of the meeting was beneficial.
