Pulwama:- Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sanjay Raut on Saturday attacked the Narendra Modi led Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) Government and urge that a sedition case be filed against it, questioning whether the Pulwama terror attack was orchestrated to win the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
Mr. Raut made his comments in Nagpur after Satya Pal Malik, a former governor of Jammu and Kashmir, alleged in an interview that Prime Minister Modi had reportedly discouraged him from speaking about the mistakes that had led to the Pulwama terror attack.
In Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama area in February 2019, a suicide bomber crashed an explosives-laden car into the bus transporting the security guards, killing 40 CRPF members
According to Mr. Malik’s claims in his interview from last Friday, the CRPF requested aerial transportation for its soldiers since “such a big convoy (78 vehicles carrying over 2,500 personnel) does not travel by road.”
Mr. Raut claimed that Mr. Malik had revealed the “explosive truth about Pulwama,” but added that the opposition had already raised these concerns shortly after the incident occurred and had been suppressed by the BJP by being labelled “traitors” and “speaking in the voice of Pakistan.”
The explosive satya (‘truth’) that Satya Pal Malik has revealed is more explosive than the Pulwama explosion itself.
However, this is nothing novel. At the time, people were aware that a fabricated Indo-Pakistan incident would occur. Was the terrorist assault planned in order to influence elections?
Was there an intentional plan to kill 40 Jawans for political purposes? According to Mr. Raut, a Rajya Sabha MP, “We [Opposition] had frequently sought to ask similar issues at the time but were suppressed by the ruling party and labelled as “traitors.”
He questioned how, in the face of such strict security, RDX managed to get to Pulwama.
The Pulwama road is never travelled by security troops. Why, then did the government and the Air Force not give air support to the convoy? said the Thackeray camp leader.
Mr. Raut urged that the Pulwama incident-related ministers be “court martialed” in addition to the Modi Government being charged with sedition
Attacking the “failure” of the Modi Administration to prosecute business criminals like Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi, and Vijay Mallya as well as to open an investigation into BJP’s friend Gautam Adani, Mr. Raut claimed the BJP was instead attempting to suffocate the opposition by deploying Central agencies against them and “framing” them.
“The Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are being used by the BJP to undermine the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
According to Mr. Raut, Tejashwi Yadav and Arvind Kejriwal both received CBI notices, while Tejashwi Yadav received Summonses from the ED and CBI.
