On Thursday, a Saudi Airlines aircraft from Riyadh caught fire while landing at Pakistan’s Bacha Khan International Airport in Peshawar.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said that all 276 passengers and 21 staff members were swiftly evacuated to safety, according to the Dawn newspaper of Pakistan.
Air traffic controllers spotted smoke and flames coming from the aircraft’s left landing gear as it landed, alerting the pilots, according to CAA spokeswoman Saifullah. They also notified the fire and rescue services at the airport.
According to the statement, Saudi Airlines fire trucks responded swiftly and put out the fire on the landing gear.
“The fire tenders acted in time and immediately controlled the landing gear fire, saving the aircraft from a major accident,” stated Saifullah. Using an inflatable slide, all 276 passengers and 21 crew members were safely evacuated.
The airlines released a statement regarding the matter, stating that all passengers and staff were safely evacuated, the aircraft was halted, and authorities were notified.
Saudia explains that upon landing at Peshawar International Airport in Pakistan, smoke was coming from one of the tires on its aircraft, flight SV792, which was traveling from Riyadh to Peshawar. The plane was quickly brought to a stop, and the appropriate authorities were informed.

Via the evacuation slide, all visitors and staff were safely removed. Experts are currently conducting a technical assessment of the aircraft. This involves extensive inspections, tests, and repairs to guarantee its safety, according to the official statement.
It was a scary landing, but fortunately nobody was hurt. Swift action by the fire department and Civil Aviation Authority put out the fire and guaranteed everyone’s safety.
In addition to assuring the public of their dedication to safety, Saudia Airlines stated that extensive maintenance and inspections are being carried out in order to quickly return the aircraft to service.
According to PTI, Peshawar airport officials stated that all flights will proceed according to schedule and the airport is operational.
