The incident occurred when the Spanish woman and her spouse, who were cycling through Dumka in Jharkhand, stopped to spend the night in a makeshift tent.
The police announced on Saturday that they had gang-raped a Spanish tourist who was on a bike tour in Jharkhand’s Dumka district along with her spouse.
The pair halted at a desolate location to spend the night in an improvised tent late on Friday night in the Hansdiha neighborhood of Dumka.
Police said that three persons have been taken into custody in this case.

Santosh Kumar, a police officer in Jarmundi Sub Divisional, told the news agency PTI, “The incident of gangrape occurred on Friday night.”
The traveler couple had stopped close to the Hansdiha market to spend the night in the tent as they traveled from Dumka to Bhagalpur, in Bihar.
They were allegedly traveling to Nepal via Bihar after riding a two-wheeler from Bangladesh to Dumka. The men who had allegedly raped the woman also beat them.
According to the police, the victim is presently receiving medical attention at the Phulo Jhano Medical College Hospital in Dumka, and additional investigation is in progress.
