Security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation (CASO) after receiving “specific” information that terrorists were located in the Shopian village of Alshipora, which sparked the start of the battle.

Security forces achieved a huge win on Tuesday when they killed two local terrorists connected to the Lashkar-E-Taiba terrorist organization during a clash in Shopian. According to the Kashmir Police, Kashmiri Pandit Sanjay Sharma was slain by Abrar, one of the two terrorists who were killed.

Security personnel carried out a cordon-and-search operation (CASO) after receiving “specific” information that was present in the Shopian village of Alshipora, which sparked the start of the shooting. Two local terrorists linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba were reportedly slain during the all-night anti-terror operation.

Vijay Kumar, Additional Director General of Police in Kashmir, recognized Morifat Maqbool and Jazim Farooq Abrar as members of the LeT. Abrar was engaged in the assassination of the late Kashmiri Pandit Sanjay Sharma, he continued.

As an ATM security guard for the rural branch of Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Sanjay was slain earlier this year on February 23 in front of his home in the Pulwama town of Achan. On his approach to the neighborhood market, he came under gunfire. He was sent to a local hospital for more care, where he passed away from his wounds.

Six terrorists were killed in three anti-terror operations that took place in South Kashmir over the course of the past month. So far this year, security authorities have killed 54 terrorists, the majority of whom were foreign nationals.

Security personnel killed two Hizbul Mujahideen militants on October 4 during an engagement in the Jammu & Kashmir region of Kulgam. The two terrorists, Basit Amin Bhat of Frisal and Saqib Ahmad Lone of Hawoora, Kulgam, were both well-known for their participation in a number of terrorist-related activities.

“Encounter has started at Alshipora area of Shopian,” the J&K police reported. The police and security personnel are at work. Further information will be provided.

According to a report from ANI dated September 28, 31 terrorists had been slain in total in coordinated operations just this year. Together, the Army, Police, SSB, BSF, and CPRF worked to maintain security in various areas of Jammu & Kashmir. Each organization made a considerable contribution to this effort.
